How ResizeCraft collects, uses, and protects personal information

2026/09/11

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how ResizeCraft ("we," "us," or "our") handles personal information when you visit our website or use our image-resizing, account, support, newsletter, and payment features (the "Services"). ResizeCraft is the controller of the personal information described here, except where a third-party service acts as an independent controller.

2. Images and local processing

The core image-resizing tool processes selected or pasted images locally in your browser. These images are not uploaded to our servers by the core resizing workflow. Temporary image data and previews remain in browser memory and are normally released when you replace the image, reload or close the page, or leave the site.

If a future or separately identified feature offers cloud upload or storage, we will tell you before upload and this policy will apply to that processing.

3. Information we collect

Depending on your use of the Services, we may collect:

  • Account information: name, email address, profile image, email-verification status, role, and account timestamps.
  • Authentication information: login-provider identifiers, protected credentials, verification records, session tokens and dates, IP address, browser or device user agent, and linked-account details. Google or GitHub also processes information under its own policy when you use social sign-in.
  • Transaction information: customer, checkout, subscription, invoice, plan, payment-status, billing-period, and credit records. The active payment provider, such as Stripe, processes complete card details; we do not store complete card details.
  • Communications: information in contact forms, support requests, newsletter subscriptions, and messages you send us.
  • Usage and technical data: pages viewed, referrer, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device details, interactions, diagnostics, and timestamps. In production, Google Analytics or another configured provider may collect this data.
  • Preferences: language, theme, consent choices, and similar settings stored through cookies or browser storage.

We receive information directly from you, automatically from your browser, and from providers used for authentication, analytics, payments, email, hosting, security, and support.

4. How and why we use information

We use information to provide and secure the Services; authenticate users; prevent abuse and fraud; process purchases, subscriptions, cancellations, credits, and billing support; deliver transactional messages and permitted newsletters; respond to requests; analyze and improve the Services; comply with law; enforce our Terms; and protect users, ResizeCraft, and others.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract, compliance with law, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the Services, and consent. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing.

5. Disclosure and third parties

We may disclose information only as reasonably necessary to:

  • service providers for hosting, databases, storage, authentication (including Better Auth, Google, or GitHub), payments (including Stripe or the active provider), email (including Resend or the active provider), analytics (including Google Analytics or the active provider), security (including Cloudflare Turnstile when enabled), and support;
  • courts, regulators, law enforcement, or other parties when required by law or necessary to protect rights and safety;
  • advisers and counterparties involved in a merger, financing, reorganization, asset sale, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards; and
  • third parties you direct or authorize us to use.

We do not sell personal information for money or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide required choices.

6. Retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary. Account information is generally kept while your account is active; session and verification records expire according to their security purpose; transaction records may be retained for tax, accounting, payment, and fraud-prevention obligations; and support, security, and analytics records are retained according to operational needs and provider settings. We then delete or anonymize information unless law requires longer retention. Backup deletion may be delayed.

7. International transfers

Providers may process information outside your country. Where required, we use recognized safeguards such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or another lawful mechanism. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection; withdraw consent; and complain to a data-protection authority. You may also have the right to know the categories, sources, purposes, and recipients of personal information.

California residents may have rights to know, correct, or delete information, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive information, and receive equal treatment. We do not currently sell or share information for cross-context behavioral advertising or use sensitive information to infer characteristics.

You can update some information or delete your account through account settings where available. For other requests, contact us. We may verify your identity and retain limited request records. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted.

9. Cookies and tracking

We use essential technologies for authentication, security, language, and preferences and may use analytics technologies. See our Cookie Policy for details and controls.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no system is completely secure. Keep your credentials confidential and notify us if you suspect unauthorized activity.

11. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Where local law requires a higher age for valid consent, users below that age must have parent or guardian authorization. Contact us if you believe a child provided information unlawfully.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the Services, providers, or law change. The date above is the latest revision. We will provide additional notice of material changes when required.

For privacy questions or rights requests, email support@resizecraft.com or use our contact page. Do not send passwords, complete card details, or image files with your request.
